Traditional storytelling is enjoying a renaissance. Schools are recognising it’s value in improving literacy and stimulating creativity. Audiences are realising that live performance storytelling is an exciting and dynamic art form. Businesses know how important it is to tell the story behind a product/ brand/ organisation effectively. For many, storytelling offers an antidote to our fast paced lifestyles.

With no formal storytelling qualification and no single official body, it can be difficult to know how to embark upon becoming a storyteller. You are probably asking yourself all sorts of questions like;

These are all questions I had to ask myself when I started out 8 years ago. I had no help, no mentoring and was not a part of a storytelling community. But I knew that I was on the right path and I wanted this to be my livelihood. With some determination I gradually found the answers to success. I set up my company Once Upon a Story, began training and mentoring others and now I am able to answer all these questions for you.

My online mentoring course will guide you through the process of becoming a storyteller, whether you want to make a complete career change, become a part time storyteller or use storytelling in your current workplace. I will be there to support you through the following three steps;
Step 1: Four separate one to one sessions with me, during which we will cover;
building confidence, finding your voice, growing a repertoire,
the layering technique,
physicality, tone and pace,
relationship with audience, development of practice and much more.
(In between each of these sessions you will be given homework and asked to upload film footage of yourself telling stories for feedback.)
Step 2: A further three months of unlimited email support during which time I will be on hand to give you the motivation and encouragement to keep going.
Step 3: If required, I can get a website set up for you, help you with advertising and advise on how to utilise social networking. (Additional costs are required for this step)
